HistoryHistorical writings indicate that a group of four men lead by Musgrove Evans, a Government land surveyor, rode horseback from their Tecumseh homestead, the first Lenawee County settlement established in 1824, approached a body of water which they described as the most beautiful they had seen and christened it Sand Lake.
